Lucrarea “Olimpiada de matematica 2006-2010”, aparuta prin bunavointa Societatii de Stiinte Matematice din Romania, contine subiectele prezentate la etapele judeteana si nationala ale Olimpiadei de Matematica din Romania in anii 2006-2010, precum si solutiile tuturor problemelor. Olimpiada de Matematica a avut in Romania un rol foarte important. In jurul ei s-a cristalizat invatamantul matematic preuniversitar din ultimii 60 de ani. Generatii de elevi, cei mai talentati si mai studiosi, au gasit motivatia studiului matematicii in aceasta competitie, si au facut din matematica pasiune, vocatie, meserie. Romania a lansat Olimpiada Internationala de Matematica care a devenit, la randul ei, un reper in masurarea performantelor de matematica, in promovarea problemelor frumoase, in dezvoltarea matematicii in lume.

This book presents current applications of remote sensing techniques for clouds and precipitation for the benefit of students, educators, and scientists. It covers ground-based systems such as weather radars and spaceborne instruments on satellites. Measurements and modeling of precipitation are at the core of weather forecasting, and long-term observations of the cloud system are vital to improving atmospheric models and climate projections. The first section of the book focuses on the use of ground-based weather radars to observe and measure precipitation and to detect and forecast storms, thunderstorms, and tornadoes. It also discusses the observation of clouds using ground-based millimeter radar. The second part of the book concentrates on spaceborne remote sensing of clouds and precipitation.
