Dialogue of Civilisations
Editura: LAP LAMBERT ACADEMIC PUB
Anul aparitiei: 2010
Mexico is becoming a "Global Actor" whereas EU is consolidating as a "Global Civil Power." Latin America is traditionally one of the most important areas for Mexican Foreign Policy as well as it constitutes an important region for testing to what extent is EU capable to extend its influence over its periphery. In this framework, "The Economic Partnership, Political Coordination and Cooperation Agreement EU-Mexico" allowed Mexico to be an EU "privileged partner" for setting up a Bi-regional Strategic Partnership EU-LAC. This book provides the evolution of Mexican Foreign (Trade) Policy towards Europe, as well as the EU political and economical strategy in Latin America over the last ten years. Finally, it states the challenges for both regions taking in mind the International Agenda for XXIst Century. The contents of this manuscript should be useful to academic community who analyse the application of principles in EU negotiations toward third countries with special emphasize in those of Latin America. In addition, it can shed some light for decision-makers, diplomats and businessmen interested on legal framework ruling the trade relations among the referred regions.

Traumatic Verses: On Poetry in German from the Concentration Camps, 1933-1945
Editura: KESSINGER PUB LLC
Auschwitz, Buchenwald, Christianstadt, Dachau. The names of Nazi concentration camps evoke images of radical destitution. The atrocities we call the Holocaust defy comprehension, while thinkers continue to ponder the possibility of "poetry after Auschwitz." And yet a number of people composed poems while imprisoned in the camps. Unlike most documents about the camps, these poems are self-representations that convey the perspective of the inmates who wrote them. Traumatic Verses provides psychoanalytically informed close readings of a range of poems and discusses their significance for aesthetic theory and for research on the camps. It also tells the stories behind the composition and preservation of these poems and the history of their publication since 1945. Most of the poems appear here for the first time in English translation along with the original texts. This book fills a gap left by literary historians, who have mostly ignored writings from the camps and avoided careful scrutiny of literature produced under the Nazi regime. Studies of trauma have concentrated on post-traumatic experiences; discussions of aesthetics after the Holocaust have neglected the issue of the artistic ...

Editura: OPEN UNIV PR
Anul aparitiei: 2017
The other day at school, a classmate got angry at me and said, "Clown " I thanked him and gave him a kiss. He didn't understand but we became friends again." "What do you want to be when you grow up" is a question that fascinates kids and this book explores two occupations -- healing the soul (clown) and healing the body (doctor). Plus there's a need for books showing families of all types so children can see themselves and their families represented in books. Jose Carlos Andres is a famous author in Spain. He is a professional clown and children's theater actor. Natalia Hernandez has illustrated several picture books in Spain. Her unique style is reminiscent of vintage-style art.
