Paris Sketchbook Aspects of the City

In 2003 and 2005, the author made a creative excursion in Paris, walking through the various districts of the Opera, St.Lazare, Republic, Montmartre, Le Marais, St. Denis and St. Germain. His sketchbook records a web of discreet observations which underpinned the paintings. Notes on the history and character of the historic and fabled city accompany facsimiles of the small scale pencil studies.
